OA SIG breakfast meeting

The ANZMUSC Osteoarthritis Special Interest Group (OA SIG) is hosting an OA SIG Breakfast Meeting as part of the 2020 ANZMUSC Annual Scientific Meeting. The OA SIG breakfast meeting is being held 7:30-8:30am (7am breakfast) on February 12th, in the University of Otago Wellington Conference Centre, 23A Mein Street, in the heart of Newtown, Wellington, New Zealand.


The meeting will be an opportunity to meet with your fellow OA SIG members and learn and discuss all things related to OA and is generously sponsored by the Centre for Musculoskeletal Outcomes Research (University of Otago Medical School).


The meeting will feature:

–  an update on current New Zealand Government priorities, programmes, initiatives, and plans for the future related to musculoskeletal disorders, with an emphasis on the OA space, presented by Laura Seary, Clinical Principal Advisor at the Ministry of Health.
– an update on the Mobility Action Plan programme, initiated by the Government in Budget 2015 allocating $6 million of new funding over three years to help improve care for people with musculoskeletal health conditions, presented by Simon Duff, also of the MoH.

– an update on recommendations for public health policy resulting from the HRC-funded project “The impact and management of rising osteoarthritis burden”, presented by Professor Haxby Abbott, of the University of Otago.


When: Wednesday 12th February 7:00 am (breakfast),  7:30 – 8:30am (meeting)

Where: University of Otago Wellington Conference Centre, University of Otago, Wellington, 23A Mein Street, Newton

Cost: Free. Note attendance at the OA SIG breakfast meeting is only available to OA SIG members attending the ANZMUSC 2020 scientific meeting
